The Protoy is suited to the rider looking for refined freestyle performance with riding comfort normally only found in a freeride board. The secret lies in the unique double concave bottom combined with a continuous rocker and 3 stage outline, making the Protoy work perfectly in just about any conditions. The shape performs in conjunction the high level of damping and response found in our multi-zone Biotech core, combined with the Full Dual Carbon construction.

The Airush Multizone Biotech construction is a vertical wood core sandwich comprising of a dual density Balsa and Poplar core with ABS rail and tips. The higher density poplar stringer creates a hyper responsive center section while the outer balsa section minimizes the weight. Our wood cores are renowned for their response, durability and smoothness, and are combined with a versatile tri axial laminate for all-round performance and durability.
The Dual Carbon Biotech construction offers an incredible combination of reduced weight with high durability in an intermediate flex board. The additional stiffness of the full Carbon fiber top and bottom layer allow us to reduce the core thickness and materials used, leading to a significant weight saving over a glass board. Both top and bottom decks feature a durable PPT top sheet layer to protect the laminate.
The ABS flip tip enhances ride comfort, specifically in choppier water, by preventing the nose of the board from pearling and directing spray from the nose forward and away from the rider.
This board offers an incredible blend of performance and the 135 is the twintip that I use as my everyday board for 12m and smaller (I am around 85 kg). The new 138 is a bit more freestyle oriented and a very good option if you are over 80 kg or kite in lighter winds. Riding a board that is too small is a common mistake, so if you are not sure which size to go for, opt for the bigger size.
