The higher density poplar stringer creates a hyper responsive center section while the outer balsa section minimizes the weight. Our wood cores are renowned for their response, durability and smoothness, and are combined with a versatile tri axial laminate for all-round performance and durability.
The Dual Carbon Biotech construction offers an incredible combination of reduced weight with high durability in an intermediate flex board. The additional stiffness of the full Carbon fiber top and bottom layer allow us to reduce the core thickness and materials used, leading to a significant weight saving over a glass board. Both top and bottom decks feature a durable PPT top sheet layer to protect the laminate.
The Airush Quad Carbon Biotech construction is a vertical wood core sandwich comprising of a Balsa and Poplar core with ABS rail and tips. Through significant development of the quad layer multiaxial 100% carbon construction, we have been able to reduce overall weight for the same relative stiffness by up to 40%. However the true secret to the performance is felt in the refinement of the response, where the four carbon layers are directionally optimized for torsion and longitudinal response. The result is an incredible combination of explosive pop, improved the control on landing and increased ride comfort.
The ABS flip tip enhances ride comfort, specifically in choppier water, by preventing the nose of the board from pearling and directing spray from the nose forward and away from the rider.
Airush Carbon Torsion Control creates a unique performance advantage developed specifically for performance freeride boards. Traditionally higher flex boards, ideal for freeride, have significant torsional flex. The Carbon Torsion Control features bias oriented Carbon fiber along the heel edge, reducing the amount of torsional flex in this area. This allows you to ride the board flatter for increasing comfort and speed.
The Progressive Dual Rocker featured on the Livewire offers a unique rocker where smaller sizes run slightly flatter rocker to enhance acceleration, while larger sizes feature an increased rocker improving the performance for boot riding. The outer rail features a flatter rocker for improved edging, upwind and light-wind performance while the higher rocker centre section increases loading for wakestyle riding.
The Independent Flex Tips work in conjunction with the Carbon Torsion Control to enhance the stiffness differentiation between heel side and toe side edges. The Carbon Torsion Control stiffens the heel side edge while the independent flex tips allow the toe side edge to remain softer for carving and toeside turns.
Airush introduced FMS rating 4 years ago as the first brand to quantify how much a twintip flexes, instead of the good old “feel” test, which can be very deceptive due to the impact of the length on the overall stiffness. FMS takes into account the boards length and deflection and lower rating indicating a softer board. Softer boards are more suited to freeride, while stiffer boards are more suited to Freestyle.
The Flying V bottom shape featured in the Cypher improves directional stability and control, while simultaneously improving rail-to-rail carving. This is achieved through a unique Spiral V through the planning area of the board with a flat tail section to help the board to snap through the last part of the turn.
The Key to the Active Stringers strength is the stiff and ultra lightweight carbon I-beam through the center of the board. This prevents the board from over flexing and damaging the laminate when flexing beyond the working range. The secret to the Active Technology flex is the high memory polypropylene layer that allows the full biaxial carbon skins to flex and compress within the working range. The combination gives a perfect blend of maximum flex with maximum durability.
The Flytech III Bamboo comprises of a dual sandwich hi-density standing area, with a full bamboo sandwich deck, this ensures strength and lightweight in the standing area. The bottom deck features the innovative new Bioflex bamboo sandwich. The unique bias orientation and bamboo combination creates the most flex possible in a wood sandwich.
Lycra-covered ergonomic thermoformed EVA arms ensures an all-encompassing foot system that secures the foot without any hard edges (due to the seamless integration from EVA pad to EVA arm). This enables the use of a sleeve strap, which is lighter and moves in conjunction with your foot’s natural movement. A side stiffening plate ensures structural integrity and smooth sliding of the EVA arms during tightening.

Contoured outer and inner heel areas centre the foot. Together with the grip insert, these minimize outward movement – locking the rider’s heel into position.
The “Traction Control” is a unique 3D directional grooving, providing additional traction in specific directions. This creates a locked-in feel while still providing ease of entry.
