    Airush Frame Technology

Airush Frame Technology distributes the load off all stitch lines on all main panels of the canopy area during impact in a crash, while the outer frame features gradient load wingtips that integrates progressive density cloth in the high load areas radiating from the attachment points.

Featured in all 2015 kites, except the DNA, the new Fast Bladder Inflation (FBI) features a new Angled Plastic Unit for reduce wear, increased wall thickness and oversized diameter tubing that eliminates tube kink and reduces stress on your pump, resulting in a quick and easy inflation.

The 4-piece strut has added a double folded straight stitch seam aligned with a 20mm wide webbing strip to reduce point of wearing. This increases durability and rigidness of the struts in all Airush kites.

The Unity Strut Connection provides a solid point from strut to leading edged to create a stiff structure which helps in performance and relaunching. The Unity Strut Connection working in conjunction with the 4 Piece Struts allows for a thinner and lighter strut.

Made of tough Zytel material for high strength and resistance to abrasion and impact, the Airush Pulley has the pigtails hole directionally correct to eliminate bridle wear.  With a breaking strength of 550 kg, the Airush pulley was designed specifically for use on all Airush kites.

Airush has added the all new SPS (single inflation system) to all kites to allow for a quick and easy inflate to start the session and an even quicker deflate to end the session.

The Airush Wave Kite has created a legion of dedicated surf followers through its groundbreaking design, blending a unique combination of forward speed and incredible drifting capabilities. The Wave responds perfectly to rider input and allows you to get into the perfect position on the wave, no matter what the wind conditions.

Refinements in the chord length, wingtips and canopy layout make for a smooth power delivery and fluid steering consistent across the range, while the V3 bridle system maintains even tension throughout the kite enabling perfect steering even when depower and sheeted out.

With the most advanced construction on the market and perfect balance, the Airush Wave takes surf kiting into a new realm.

The Lab

The Supported Leading Edge c-kite or SLC is dedicated to riders who want everything from a 5 line C-kite in a 4 line format. The SLC concept gives a C-shape arc and squarer wingtips, which delivers great turning and direct response in combination with the bridle that supports the leading edge, great range, depower and relaunching abilities.

V3 Bridle

The V3 bridle system contributes significantly to the feeling and performance of supported leading edge kites, in addition the total depower adds immensely to the safety benefits. The positioning of the bridle attachment points on the LE of the kite, combined with the V pulleys, give a range of movement. The result is steering that is light, but direct enough to feel where your kite is while riding. This also enables the kite to be steered and controlled when the kite is completely de-powered, which is ideal for wave riding.

This premium fabric is used in conjunction with the Aramid Load frame for the ultimate combination of durability and performance. Ongoing testing has highlighted the lowest stretch and highest long-term reliability of any materials available.

Aramid Load Frame

All Team Series kites feature the proven Aramid Load Frame. Aramid, found in bulletproof vests, is strategically placed throughout the kite to create a frame that improves the kites structure and response.

This construction absorbs impact throughout the canopy, reducing the overall load placed on the canopy cloth, by directing load through the Aramid frame high stress periods such impact or wave action. Not only does the frame create a solid structure, but also increases performance. The Aramid Load Frame makes a more solid link throughout the entire kite, which enhances the response from rider to kite.

Tips & Tuning

What Changes were made in the 2015 Wave vs 2014?

Last years Wave kite was such a success that we didn’t want to radically change anything. On the smaller sizes 5,6,7m, we increased the leading edge diameter to make the structure a bit more stable in high and erratic winds. It also helps to keep the kite a bit tamer in high winds and gusty conditions, stops it shooting around the sky radically, needing less attention, leaving you more focused on smacking the lip.

How important are the V3 Bridles?

The V3 bridle is the only way to make a kite have full steering response when it’s completely depowered. Plenty of other kites claim to have this without pulleys, but its pretty clear to see as soon as you push the bar away fully, the kite has almost no response. This is absolutely essential when riding waves while staying in control.
