Congratulations Alex Pastor and Bruna Kajiya: 2012 Vice World Champions

A very long and exciting year for Airush Pro Team riders, Alex Pastor and Bruna Kajiya.   These season veterans no strangers to the podium, both riders focus hard all winter training home and abroad to maximize their potential during the competition season.

A great competition rider is a lot different than a great freerider.  They need to be extremely focused, their moves calculated and memorized, and even if they take a hard fall, they need to be able to get back up and continue their heat.  7 minutes seems brief to those on-land but for these riders each second feels like a lifetime, looking at their watch constantly making sure that everything they do is perfection.

As can be seen, this year heats were determined by fractions of a point making every movement the most critical.  A lot different than the years before, the 2012 PKRA season has been refined and so has its competitors.

Alex Pastor has been with the Airush brand since the start of 2010, since then he has grabbed 3x Vice World Championships and has been an asset to the development of the Razor c-kite, FS Team and Livewire.  Being the first rider to win a PKRA event in boots, Alex has set a trend amongst the PKRA World Tour showing these riders the possibility to be competitive in this type of Wakestyle riding.

Bruna Kajiya is one of the newest members of the team joining at the beginning of 2012.  She is an extremely positive member of the kiting community and a friendly face on the beach.  Beyond her personality – her focus is transforming the image of womens riding to a more powerful and style driven performance.  Her persistence towards this type of riding has made her a stand out on the tour among women and men who appreciate this ambition to progress what female riding should be.  Bruna also spends plenty of time talking with the Airush RnD team to make the products better not only for male riders but can equally perform well for women.
