The Flytech construction is
most suitable for high volume kiteboards due to its low density
and therefore core weight. The lightweight core is combined with
unidirectional and standard glass and a combination of various sandwich
technologies.
Within the flytech contruction major advances have been made in
the new optimized core density. Lower volume boards such as the
Choptop or 5’6” Converse feature a higher core density, while higher
volume boards such as the converse 6’4” and full sandwich construction
in the converse wood, feature a progressively lower density core.
A new feature for the 2008 Flytech construction is T-Stringer technology,
while the footstrap and stepping areas on the Flytech cores are
reinforced with Wood and PVC sandwich layups, the forward section
of the board is reinforced with the T-Stringer to prevent bucking
of the laminate and maintain the low weight. |
